A rare Boer War pipe with the Royal Irish Rifles insignia skillfully hand-carved into the bowl. To the left it states "BOER,1899", to the right "WAR, 1900" and to the bottom "1901". A large pipe at 18.5cm in length and in excellent condition. Note : I believe the pipe is from the Ray Leppan Collection, one of the largest private Anglo-Boer collections.
The Royal Irish Rifles 2nd Battalion fought throughout the Anglo-Boer War from 1899 to 1902.
