An early 20th Century King's Trophy Competition Medal for the National Rifle Association in solid bronze, designer stamped "PM" (Percy Metcalfe).  The obverse illustrates a right-facing archer, his bow fully extended, surrounded by the inscription "FOR SPECIAL DISTINCTION NRA", the reverse illustrates an ornate circular plaque surmounted by the Royal coat-of-arms, inscribed in the centre "PRESENTED BY THE KING TO ENCOURAGE YOUTH IN THE HOPE THAT FRIENDLY COMPETITION AND EFFICIENT TRAINING MAY HELP IT TO FORGE NEW LINKS OF EMPIRE" and surrounded by the inscription "KING'S TROPHY COMPETITION",  In its original Royal Mint hard-shelled case of issue. The medal is in excellent condition with the case showing light wear and scuffing on the exterior.
