A rare antique Anglo-Egyptian Sudan arm dagger with decorated hippo tusk handle. The handle is largely intact but please note the chip to one side. The straight iron blade tapers to a point, with incised fullers running the full length of the blade. The dagger is a handsome artifact but the real star of this ensemble is the sheath which is finely hand-crafted with White Nile Crocodile skin and hand-tooled camel hide. Please view images above for more detail.
Anglo-Egyptian Sudan was a condominium of the United Kingdom and Egypt between 1899 and 1956, corresponding mostly to the territory of present-day South Sudan and Sudan.
