A fine example of a South African Police issue-marked Pattern 1907 sword bayonet for the Lee Enfield .303 rifle by the Wilkinson Sword Company of London.  The left ricasso bears the crown (George Rex) over "1907" and the manufacture date with maker's stamp.  The right ricasso bears the military broad arrow with "X" (bend test stamp) and various inspection marks.  The pommel bears the "SAP' stamp along with the Union of South Africa broad arrow.  The blued-steel blade is in great condition and the locking button is functional.  The bayonet is accompanied by the double-stitched brown leather scabbard with blued mounts.  The bayonet inserts and withdraws smoothly.

Bayonet:  55cm

Blade:  43cm

Sheathed: 59cm
